Principal's Corner
We are estimated to be a ‘B’ rated campus! We have a National Merit Semifinalist this school year. This student is one of only two Dallas ISD comprehensive students with this honor.
Our Panther band won Dallas Bands United Battle of the Bands competition. This is the second year in a row!
I also would like to give an update on our intake process. We have added more metal detectors and another morning entrance. This has helped move our intake line quicker. As we continue with this, students need to remember to have their ID badge on and their backpacks open for the intake process. Also, students are only allowed one small pencil pouch or makeup bag. Items that are prohibited include medication (prescription and over the counter); permanent markers; and scissors. Any confiscated prohibited items can be picked up by a parent.
Get Involved
If you are a parent and would like to get involved, there are many opportunities. The very first thing to do is go to https://dallasisd.voly.org/ and sign up. Next, you can attend a PTAS meeting, become part of the Hillcrest Athletics Association, contact the coach or sponsor of any extracurricular activities your students is involved in or email Lisa Smith the Hillcrest HS Community Liaison (lisasmith@dallasisd.org) to see where a good place for you to volunteer might be.
